Street Lighting Assessment
NOTICE TO PROPERTY OWNERS – August 6, 2024
You are hereby notified that on the 8th day of July, 2024 the Council of the City of Geneva, State of Ohio, duly
adopted Resolution No. 3604, a resolution declaring it necessary to improve the streets in the City of Geneva by
supplying electric power for street lighting including any constructing, installing, relocating, repairing, replacing,
and equipping electric lighting facilities, and constructing, reconstructing and improving streets and sidewalks and
other locations in connection therewith.
That the entire cost of said improvement, less two percent (2%) shall be assessed upon all of the lots and lands in the
City of Geneva, Ohio, bounding and abutting on the aforesaid streets between termini aforesaid, and any future
streets that may be constructed, dedicated, and/or accepted by the Geneva City Council during the period of this
assessment, which said lots and lands are determined to be specifically benefited by said improvement, a percentage
of their tax valuation as shown by the records of the Ashtabula County Auditor, State of Ohio. The cost thereof
shall include the cost of preliminary and other surveys, plans, specifications, estimates, and of printing, serving, and
publishing notices, resolutions, and ordinances, the costs incurred in connection with the preparation, levy, and
collection of the special assessments, expenses of legal services together with all necessary expenditures.
The estimated assessments for such improvement, will be on file in the office of the Clerk of Council and available
for inspection by any interested person.
Objections to the assessment, amount or apportionment thereof must be filed in writing in the office of the Clerk of
Council within two weeks from the date of this notice.
